We have all heard of the benefits of eating our broccoli; however, research and studies are showing that those benefits have far exceeded anything we could have ever imagined.

Broccoli has many nutrients, vitamins, and minerals; however, did you know that broccoli is showing to be one of the best foods that contain cancer-fighting agents.

The Antioxidant Benefits of Broccoli

Broccoli just so happens to be one of the vegetables that contains the highest degree of Vitamin C. Also found in broccoli are the following nutrients:

  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin E
  • Manganese
  • Zinc
  • Lutein,
  • Zeaxanthin
  •  Beta-carotene.

The benefits of antioxidants are to reduce what is commonly known as oxidative stress on the body. Antioxidants support oxygen metabolism. Oxidants can damage DNA, which can eventually lead to cancer. Broccoli is so packed with antioxidants that eating more it is a major benefit.

Broccoli Can Speed Up Detoxification

Our bodies are exposed to toxicity on a daily basis. Our bodies also need the tools to fight off these toxins that are everywhere in our environment and in our food and sometimes water.

Without detoxification, our bodies deteriorate and the invitation to diseases such as cancer are available. Broccoli contains the necessary components to promote and maintain detoxification on a maintenance level.

When dangerous materials enter our body, the components found in broccoli have the capability to fight and ward off these dangers toxins by detoxing and maintaining the promotion of detox in our bodies.

Broccoli Has the Ability to Promote Anti-inflammatory Diseases

When the body is the recipient of toxins, the body goes into reactive mode sending out inflammatory fighters to kill off whatever it feels it is threatened by, therefore causing the entire body to go into inflammatory processes.

Broccoli has the ability to promote anti-inflammatory properties, thus keeping the body free of toxins and avoiding the necessity for the body to go into anti-inflammatory mode.

The proponents of anti-inflammatory protection, anti-oxidants, and detoxification allow the body to fight off such things and safeguard the body against invading cancer cells. More and more research is showing that broccoli is one of the vegetables that are highest on the cancer-fighting list.

While it has been known all along that broccoli provides calcium and vitamin C, it is now known that it also has components to detox and ward off cancer cells.

    i wouldnt eat brocoli as a kid but tried it as a adult and love it ,either raw or steamed

    I love broccoli and make it once or twice a week. I knew it was good for me, but didn’t know all the benefits.
