How to Stay in Shape at home

Staying at home during this corona period can be quite frustrating for people who love the gym or exercising outside. When at the gym, the inspiration or energy to exercise comes from the atmosphere or the environment in general. Some of you are probably reading this, angry at yourself for not working out since you’ve been at home. You’ve possibly not exercised because you don’t know how to go about it or the right machines to use. I have some excellent news for you; I’ll be giving you some juicy tips on how you can exercise at home. I’ll be dividing this into sections and explaining how you can effectively do each at home.

Bodyweight exercises

As a bodybuilder or someone who aims to build weight, body exercises, along with consistency, are fundamental. Here are some exercises that help in bodyweight building that can be done from the comfort of your home:

Press-ups: Pressup is a bodybuilding exercise that helps in building bodyweight, especially that of the upper body.  It’s very engaging and doesn’t need any equipment. You can start with 20 reps and increase the difficulty as you advance.

Step-up: This exercise is usually accompanied with knee raises. All you need is a bench or stool, which you can step on. It helps a lot in building lower body strength and can be done anywhere.

Cardio

Cardio exercises are those that help you lose weight and remain fit. You may have noticed or are about to see that when you’re doing cardio you run out of breath. Cardio helps in the overall health of your body. Here are some cardio exercises you can do at home:

Jump rope: Yes, that fun activity you used to do while you were young is good for your health. Clear some space in a room in your house and do this for 15-20 minutes. Do this every day, and notice your health change for the better.

Jumping jacks: Jumping jacks is one of those few exercises that give your body a full-body workout. Do this for 20 minutes daily, and watch yourself shed massive weight.

Cycling:  You’re probably wondering why an outdoor sport like cycling is here. Cycling is a good cardio workout and you can do it at home with the right equipment. The Stamina X Air Rower is one efficient equipment that can replicate this along with other cardio workouts in your home.

Yoga

The health benefits of yoga are severely underrated. Not only does yoga help your respiratory system and flexibility, but it also gives you a good cardio workout. All you need is a mat and leg space, and you’re ready for yoga. Here are some yoga exercises you can do at home:

Raised arms pose: Yoga always looks easy, but a lot is going on in your body. Raised arms pose is like an extended morning stretch. The raised arms can be done every morning when you wake up and helps out with digestion and breathing.

Garland pose: This is an exercise that seems like squatting. The garland pose helps out with stretching of the joints, tightening your abdomen, and a range of other things.

Exercise is an activity that you can do anywhere, as long as you know what you’re doing and how you want to do it. You can achieve your dream body at your home or wherever you are.  I hope this article can help you if you’re struggling with how to maintain your body or work out.
