The ESTA USA allows travelers to apply online for travel authorization, as long as their trip is for business, tourism, medical or transit purposes and they are staying in the US for a period of no longer than 90 days.

Another thing you may need to be aware of is that the law can vary from one state to another. So, details such as traffic/driving laws and drinking laws are different across different states, so you might need to check local laws if you have any concerns.
Public transport in the US
In most tourist areas in the US, there are very good public transport systems, such as the subway in cities such as New York, Washington, Chicago and Boston. These are ideal for shorter journeys across the built up city area. There are also over ground trains covering a lot of the US tourist areas, while boats are also popular modes of transport in areas with significant waterways.
It is also worth noting that domestic flights within the US are usually quite reasonably priced compared to international flights, so if you were thinking about travelling from one area of the US to another on your trip, you might find flying is the fastest and most cost effective option.
