We spend at least a third of our lives at work, so it’s vital that we ensure that we are looking after our health during that part of our day. The problem is that it is so easy to become distracted, stressed or just indifferent to putting the effort into staying healthy at work. Hydration

Drinking enough water seems simple, but many people forget to do it. They are so busy or stressed, and it’s just gets put to the back of their mind. The problem with this is that we need at least eight glasses of water a day to function well. Most of these need to be drunk while we are active at work to stop us getting up in the night all the time to use the facilities.

Exercise

One of the worst mistakes that we can make at work is to stay in the same position all day and not get enough exercise. Office workers that are primarily in a sitting position can suffer from leg and back cramp and a general feeling of lethargy.

But how can we exercise while still working? How about trying a gym ball instead of a traditional seat, which engages your core muscles to keep it stable? Or you can get a stepper machine for under your desk so you can be getting blood pumping even when you’re on that sales call!

Another major mistake both employers and employees make not having enough natural light. Some office doesn’t even have any windows. The constant use of fluorescent light can cause headaches and even bring on migraines.

It can also be hard for people to get enough B vitamins if they are not exposed to natural sunlight. That’s why it’s imperative that you should take at least one break a day outside. It will also keep you more alert as you will be out in the fresh air.

    Health is something that individuals ignore and the consumption of junk food in the busy daily schedule makes people sick and affects the health negatively which need to be avoided.
