Hartz for the Holidays – Perfect Puppy Treats and Toys

When you line up your stockings on the fireplace mantle for the holidays, do you include ones for your dogs and cats? In our household, our pets are considered members of the family. So that means we plan for holiday gifts for them, too! And while there are always holiday gift packs for pets available at your big supermarket chains, you never know the quality of the products that you’re getting.
If you’re looking for quality products, sticking with a well known brand, like Hartz, is just the best way to go. My three dogs were ecstatic to try out some of the treats and toys the brand is featuring for this year’s holiday season, including the DuraPlay Ball, Delectables Stew, and Oinkies smoked pig skin chews.
Oinkies treats are a huge hit in my house
My dogs went CRAZY when I opened up the first bag of Oinkies treats, just like they do for any other treat. But, it did take them a little while to warm up to the idea of having to actually chew them instead of swallowing them whole in one bite. (Most days I don’t think my dogs even taste the treats I give them.) I like the fact that they don’t have any rawhide in them, but they’re a time consuming treat. We like having these kinds of treats on hand to keep the dogs occupied on days when we’re running back and forth from the house, garage, and yard, or when we’ve got company coming over who aren’t thrilled with being jumped on the moment they step foot in the door.
I was glad to see that, although the treats are smoked, the smell was not overpowering.
DuraPlay is fun, but not durable enough
For the sake of my sanity, I normally don’t buy dog toys with squeakers, so when the pups realized that the DuraPlay ball and tug rope weere squeak toys, they quickly took to running through the house with them in what can be best described as a round of dog rugby. Unfortunately, the fun only lasted for about fifteen minutes before my shred-happy dogs had ripped through the latex outer coating and were trying to snack on the foam interior. These toys would be better suited for dogs who play who play hard, but don’t have the habit of instantly destroying them.
Hartz is more than dog treats and toys
Hartz has pretty much every pet supply you can think of, from dog and cat toys and treats, to flea meds and grooming tools, as well as supplies for small animals, birds, and reptiles.
