There is something special about getting everyone together during the Christmas season.
The food is on the table, Christmas music is playing, the tree is glowing, presents are
waiting to be opened, and everyone is finally slowing down enough to enjoy being together.
Of course, after dinner and all the holiday excitement, someone usually asks the question:
“What should we do now?”
Instead of everyone disappearing to their phones or separate rooms, why not bring everyone
together with a few simple Christmas games?
Holiday games are such an easy way to get kids, parents, grandparents, friends and extended
family laughing together. You do not need an elaborate party setup or a large budget either.
Many of the best Christmas games use things you probably already have around the house.
If you are planning a family Christmas gathering, Christmas Eve celebration or holiday party,
here are four fun Christmas games that everyone can enjoy.
🎄 1. Christmas Scavenger Hunt

A Christmas scavenger hunt is one of those games you can change every year, which makes it
perfect for families with children of different ages.
You can play indoors, outdoors or even turn a drive through the neighborhood looking at
Christmas lights into a holiday scavenger hunt.
What You Will Need
Paper or printed scavenger hunt sheets, pens or pencils and a few inexpensive prizes if you
want to make things competitive.
How to Play
Create a list of Christmas themed items for everyone to find. Your list could include:
- A candy cane
- A Santa decoration
- A snowman
- A red ornament
- A Christmas stocking
- A wreath
- A reindeer
- A wrapped present
- Something with a Christmas tree on it
- Something that jingles
Divide everyone into teams or let each person play individually. Set a timer and see who can
locate the most items before time runs out.
For a no mess version, let everyone use their phone to photograph each item instead of
actually bringing the objects back.
If younger children are playing, add pictures to the scavenger hunt sheet so they can easily
recognize what they are looking for.

Most of us spend plenty of time wrapping presents during December, so why not turn one of
those holiday chores into a family competition?
What You Will Need
- Wrapping paper
- Tape
- Ribbon
- Scissors
- Empty boxes
- A timer
How to Play
Divide everyone into teams of two. Give every team a similar sized box and roughly the same
amount of wrapping paper.
Set the timer for two or three minutes.
When someone shouts GO!, everyone starts wrapping.
When time runs out, judge the finished presents based on speed, creativity or simply which
wrapped box looks the best.
Want to make things even funnier? Have contestants wrap using only one hand, or pair two
people together and allow each person to use only one hand.
Expect some very interesting looking presents. 😂
For younger kids, forget about perfect wrapping. Give them bows, stickers and ribbon and let
creativity determine the winner.
🎅 3. Who Am I? Christmas Edition

This is one of the easiest Christmas games to set up because you only need a few pieces of
paper.
What You Will Need
Sticky notes or small pieces of paper and tape.
How to Play
Write the name of a Christmas character on each piece of paper.
Some fun ideas include:
- Santa Claus
- Rudolph
- Frosty the Snowman
- The Grinch
- An elf
- A gingerbread man
- Mrs. Claus
- A reindeer
- A Christmas angel
Place one character name on each person’s forehead or back without letting them see who they
are.

Name That Christmas Tune is one of the easiest holiday games to organize because you probably
already have everything you need.
What You Will Need
A phone, tablet, computer or speaker and a playlist filled with Christmas music.
How to Play
Divide everyone into two teams and choose one person to be the DJ.
Play only the opening few seconds of a Christmas song and then stop the music.
The first team to correctly name the song earns a point.
For an extra point, ask the team to name the singer or artist.
You can make the game harder by using instrumental versions of familiar Christmas songs.
Another fun variation is to have someone hum a Christmas tune while everyone else tries to
guess the song.
Keep track of the points and give the winning team a small holiday prize.
🎁 Do Not Forget the Prizes
You do not need expensive prizes to make Christmas games exciting.
Try simple prizes such as:
