What to Do if You’re in a Ride Sharing Accident

In the aftermath of an accident involving ride sharing, your immediate priority is to assess the situation and call 911 for medical assistance. Contact the police and gather evidence of the accident. Consult an experienced attorney to navigate the complexities and protect your rights.

It is essential to have the assistance of a Los Angeles Uber accident attorney to win damages after a rideshare accident and to ensure a fair settlement is reached.

Call Emergency Services and Seek Medical Attention

Your top priority is to ensure the safety of everyone involved. Take the following steps:

  • Check yourself and others for injuries
  • Call 911 if necessary
  • Move to a safe location away from traffic

Gather Evidence of the Accident

After ensuring everyone is safe, gather the necessary information from every party involved.

  • I use clear photos of the vehicles, damages, and the surrounding area as evidence to fight for the fair compensation you deserve. Be sure to capture multiple angles, including close-ups of damage or injuries.
  • Get the other driver’s name, contact information, and insurance information. Note the vehicle’s make, model, and license plate number. If you’re a passenger, screenshot the app’s ride information.

Call the Police and File an Accident Report

Call the police immediately if you’re involved in a carpool accident. Provide accurate information about the accident and any injuries sustained.

Request a copy of the accident report once completed, as I use it as valuable evidence to pursue compensation later.

Contact Your Insurance Company

Contact your insurance company as soon as possible. Understanding your rights is one way to travel safely with ride sharing apps.

I often explain to clients how various insurance policies apply to a specific situation. This can also help you through the complex insurance landscape of ride sharing services.

Hire a Personal Injury Lawyer

While carpooling has provided new job opportunities and convenience to commuters, companies like Lyft and Uber have added a 3% increase in car accident fatalities. An experienced personal injury attorney can determine the best course of action and ensure you receive the proper compensation.

My Uber and Lift accident lawyer team has successfully handled numerous accident claim cases over the years by building a solid case on behalf of clients and negotiating a fair settlement with the at-fault party’s insurance company.

  • I do DoorDash on the side now but used to do it full time. Some lady backed into my van and dented it but I called no damage bc it didn’t matter. Didn’t need it totaled over a small dent. I almost tboned a mustang bc they were going to run a stop sign. After that I got a camera. Except it broke, I need to fix it.
