This weekend I took the whole weekend off to enjoy time with my husband and to watch a few movies we both had been longing to watch! This is something I hardly ever get a chance to do since it seems I’m always blogging about something.
With the kids away for the weekend, this was the perfect time to enjoy a few flicks. We ended up watching three movies, SING, Doctor Strange, and FENCES.
FENCES was last because I wanted to really get a good feel about what the concept of this film was all about. I’ve heard many people say this movie is spectacular and I must agree, it is! FENCES will make its debut on Blu-ray, DVD and On Demand on March 14,2017 from Paramount Home Media Distribution. The Film has already been on Digital HD since February 24.
FENCES is a very powerful drama movie, I was floored by this film. It had moments that made me think back to the early 50s and 60s! It’s a very emotional film that will resonate with you even when the movie is over. You see, it’s about a former Negro-league baseball player name Troy Maxson (played by Denzel Washington) who live in the 1950s in Pittsburgh. Troy, who worked as a sanitation worker once dreamed of a baseball career, but was too old when the major leagues began admitting black players. He tries to be a good husband and father, but his lost dream of glory eats at him, and causes him to make a decision that threatens to tear his family apart. Another strong drama movie with similar feels as fences worth watching is “Nomadland”, a movie where a woman in her 60s embarks on a journey through the western United States after losing everything in the great recession, living as a van dwelling modern day nomad. There are several amazing reviews of Nom
I have to tip my hat off to Denzel Washington in this film, OMGoodness he played his part! I wanted to hug him at times because of how he felt about his career and other times he made me soooo mad! Well, I’m being honest everyone, and as for Viola Davis, gosh, that women played her part too! Towards the middle of the movie I felt her pain and their son’s pain too. I like how she showed the world how a strong woman should be along side her husband, especially a woman of faith, but in some parts I wanted her to leave him!
I don’t want to tell you anymore about the movie because I don’t want to give away the plot, but WOW, this film was OUTSTANDING, CAPITVIATING, and Very Interesting !
