Ideal Careers for Social People

Everyone has different personality types. While some are the life of the party, others are more reserved and introverted. At times, this influences the kind of career paths that people choose to go for. If you’re a social butterfly, you may want something that allows you to engage and interact with different types of people on a daily basis. The good news is that there are numerous careers that can afford you that pleasure. With this in mind, if you’re social and are contemplating what career path to choose, here are a few to think about trying.

Sales and Marketing

One career that would work well with a social person is that of sales and marketing. You get to help meet the needs of people on a daily basis by offering them products or services that could enhance their life in different ways. In order to get into sales, you’re going to need to develop your sales and communication skills.

You could become a sales associate and then work your way up to becoming a sales manager. In order to do this, consider getting a bachelor’s degree in marketing, business admin, or public relations. You can then get some practical experience by getting a sales job that helps to build your confidence and skills. Working your way up from there and committing to continuous learning will get you to the position of sales manager if that’s your ultimate goal.

Policing

Another career path that is ideal for a social butterfly is policing. This is also ideal if you like the idea of contributing to and looking after the community. Police officers do anything from making sure people follow traffic rules to arresting and detaining individuals.

To become a police officer, you’re going to need to ensure you’re qualified in your place of residence. Once you’re sure you have the correct qualifications, you can go on to apply at the police academy, which is where you’ll pass to become a police officer.

After a year or two, if you want to advance your career, look into getting a police studies degree which can be taken online if you’d prefer that option.

Entrepreneur

Business can be an exciting step to take in your career, especially if it’s something you’re ready to dedicate yourself to. You have a chance to interact with people from different walks of life every single day for business and networking purposes.

For those who do decide that starting a business is something they want to do, learn the basics of running a business first. If not, you could be reducing your chances of success.

Artist

If you have more than one creative bone in your body, becoming an artist of any kind is a good move to make. Whether you choose to focus on painting, singing or writing poems, they’re all valid and require social interaction. In this digital age, you’re able to share your talent with curious and engaged people all over the globe.

There is no straight or linear path when it comes to pursuing a career as an artist. You’re going to have to create one for yourself and develop as many skills as possible along the way. Connecting with other artist and hearing their experiences could significantly help too.

 Social Media Manager

Social media is one of the most social things that you can do these days! Thanks to platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, people are connecting and interacting daily. As a social media manager, you’d be responsible for handling the accounts of individuals or brands. The upside is that it’s a relatively flexible job that you can do as a freelancer if that’s your preference.

As a social media manager, your responsibilities could include increasing followers, engaging with existing followers, as well as creating and posting content. You should also be able to produce reports that show the outcome of your daily activities. Learn how to use a range of technology as that will make your life far easier.

Events Planning

In addition to the mentioned, going into events planning could also grant you the chance to socialize. For those who enjoy fast-paced and buzzing environments, you’ll find this and more when you begin event planning. You could decide to start your own events planning business or join one that has already been established.

To be good at events planning, you’ve got to master both effective planning and execution. Being highly organized is a must if you want your events to run seamlessly. The last thing you want is to throw together events that are full of chaos because you weren’t organized enough!

Realtor

If you love the idea of selling homes, try becoming a realtor. By choosing this path, you get to interact with individuals every day and help them find the home of their dreams. To be good at this, develop your negotiation skills, and have a good eye for quality homes. You should also have excellent communication skills so that you can get your clients exactly what they need and give them a pleasurable experience while house hunting.

Public Relations

Both companies and individuals often employ the service of public relations professionals at some point. This is because they’re skilled at helping mold the perception of said people in the public, as well as fixing any disasters that may arise. If you think this sounds like something you see yourself doing, then you should begin developing necessary skills.

To excel in this role, you need to know how to influence both opinion and behavior. This is typically done via media communications. You’ll have to continue to manage their reputation and keep them in the good books of their target audience. Studying and understanding the brand and their core values should help you accomplish that end goal.

As a social person, there is an array of career choices you can choose from beyond this list. It’s about finding a niche that suits your passions and interests and then creating a career that you’ll be proud of.
