Fresh Coffee Starts Here With the AMZCHEF Burr Coffee Grinder
In my house, coffee is like gold. Seriously, I can’t kickstart my day without a good cup of freshly brewed coffee. Can you?
There is just something about that first cup in the morning. Before the emails start coming in, before the phone starts ringing and before the day gets completely underway, I want my coffee. And if I’m going to make a cup, I want it to taste good.
Over the years, I’ve learned that the coffee beans themselves are only part of the equation. How those beans are ground can make a noticeable difference too. That’s one reason the AMZCHEF Burr Coffee Grinder with 48 Grind Settings has quickly become an indispensable part of my morning routine.
Instead of reaching for coffee that was ground days or even weeks ago, I can measure out my beans, grind exactly what I need and make my espresso while those grounds are fresh.
And after using this grinder daily, I can tell you that one of the biggest surprises hasn’t just been the consistency of the grind.
It’s how much cleaner the whole process has been.
Freshly Ground Coffee Really Does Make a Difference
If you’re already happy buying pre ground coffee, you may wonder whether grinding your own beans is really worth adding another step to your morning.
For me, it is.
I like being able to measure my coffee beans beforehand and grind the amount I need for my espresso. I’m not grinding a huge batch that will sit around waiting to be used. I can grind what I need when I need it.
That alone has made my morning coffee routine feel a little more intentional.
I use the timer to control how much I’m grinding, and once I found the combination that worked with my beans and espresso machine, it became a very simple routine.
Compared with simply scooping pre ground coffee out of a container, I really enjoy being able to start with whole beans and make those small adjustments myself.
48 Grind Settings Give Me Plenty of Room to Experiment
One feature that immediately stood out to me is the 48 grind settings.
That’s a lot of room to experiment.
The grinder can go from a finer grind for espresso to coarser settings for brewing methods such as French press, with plenty of choices in between for pour over, drip coffee and cold brew.
For my espresso, I’ve noticed that setting the grinder at 10 gives me the results I like best. More importantly, that setting also works well with my particular espresso machine.
That’s the beauty of having so many settings available. Coffee isn’t necessarily one size fits all. The beans you’re using, your brewing method and even your own taste can influence which grind works best.
I also tried grinding a small batch at a medium fine setting, and the AMZCHEF did a very nice, even job.
The grinder uses a 40mm stainless steel conical burr designed to produce uniform grounds, and from what I’ve seen during my own use, the consistency has been impressive.
The Ground Coffee Chute Won Me Over
Now let me tell you about something that really got my attention.
The ground coffee chute.
If you’ve used coffee grinders before, you probably know exactly why I’m mentioning this.
Ground coffee can get everywhere.
It clings to the container. It sticks around the chute. You lift the cup and suddenly there are grounds scattered across the counter. Then you move the grinder to clean underneath it and discover even more coffee hiding there.
I was expecting some of that with this machine.
But that hasn’t been my experience.
The AMZCHEF uses anti static technology along with a stainless steel grounds container to help reduce cling and spills. During my testing, the grounds did not cling to everything the way I’ve experienced with other grinders.
In fact, after grinding, I checked the chute and was surprised by how clean it was. There was very little coffee debris around the burr area too.
I even tilted the machine over the sink expecting loose grounds to come falling out.
Nothing.
That surprised me because I’m accustomed to seeing a little pile of forgotten coffee grounds fall out when I do that with a grinder.
For something I’m going to use every morning, less mess is a BIG deal.
Easy Controls for Busy Mornings
The AMZCHEF Burr Coffee Grinder has an LED touchscreen that gives you several ways to control your grind.
You can select between 2 and 12 cups, adjust the grinding time up to 40 seconds in precise 0.5 second increments, or use the manual mode when you want to control the process yourself.
I especially like having control over the timer because I measure my beans beforehand. Once you learn what works for your normal cup of coffee or espresso, you aren’t starting from scratch every morning.
The touchscreen itself is clear and easy to use, and changing the settings doesn’t feel complicated.
I will say that I found the instructions included with the machine a little confusing at first.
That was probably the one area where I had to spend a little more time figuring things out. But once I understood how everything worked, operating the grinder itself was easy.
Now it’s simply part of the routine.
It’s Quieter Than My Old Coffee Grinder
Here’s another thing I noticed pretty quickly.
This grinder is quieter than my old one.
A coffee grinder is never going to be completely silent. It is grinding hard coffee beans, after all. But there is a difference between hearing a grinder working and having one announce to the entire house that somebody decided to make coffee.
I appreciate that difference, especially early in the morning.
I also wanted to see how the machine handled more than one short grinding cycle.
During my testing, I ran it for a total of 110 seconds in 22 second consecutive intervals. I didn’t experience any issues with the motor overheating or stopping during that test.
That’s the kind of thing I like to know about an appliance I’m planning to use regularly.
A Size That Makes Sense on My Counter
Kitchen counter space matters in our house.
I don’t want another appliance taking over half the counter, especially when it’s something I’m going to leave out because I use it regularly.
The AMZCHEF grinder hits a nice middle ground for me.
It’s light enough to move when needed, but it doesn’t feel flimsy. It’s not too big and it’s not too small. For my kitchen, the size feels just right.
I also really like the metallic silver finish. It gives the grinder a clean, stylish appearance that looks nice sitting next to other coffee appliances instead of making the counter look cluttered.
The machine itself feels solid and well built, and the stainless steel design gives it a more premium appearance than I expected.
Little Design Details Make a Difference
Sometimes it’s the smaller details that tell you whether someone actually thought about how an appliance would be used.
The stainless steel grounds cup, for example, has a rubberized bottom. That helps it sit securely on the machine base while the coffee is grinding instead of sliding around.
The grinder can also accommodate 51 to 54mm and 58mm espresso portafilters, which gives espresso drinkers another convenient option when preparing their coffee.
There’s also a removable bean hopper that holds up to 10.6 ounces of coffee beans. The tinted hopper is designed to help limit UV exposure, while a built in trap door helps prevent beans from spilling everywhere when the hopper needs to be removed.
Again, those aren’t necessarily the things that sound exciting when you’re shopping for a coffee grinder.
But they’re the things you notice once you’re actually living with one.
Cleaning Has Been Surprisingly Simple
Any appliance I use daily also needs to be easy to clean. I don’t want to spend more time cleaning the coffee grinder than I spend enjoying the coffee.
The AMZCHEF has been easy for me to maintain. The removable components make it easier to access the areas that need attention, and a cleaning brush is included for helping remove coffee residue around the burr and other areas.
But what has impressed me most is simply how little mess I’ve had to deal with after grinding.
The chute remained surprisingly clean during my testing, the burr area had very little leftover coffee debris, and I wasn’t chasing static filled grounds around the counter. That makes cleanup after my morning coffee much easier.
From Espresso to French Press
Even though espresso is a big part of how I’m personally using this grinder, I like that I’m not limited to espresso.
Those 48 settings allow the AMZCHEF to accommodate several different brewing styles.
You can grind finer for espresso, move into medium ranges for drip coffee and pour over, or go coarser when you’re preparing French press or cold brew. That’s particularly useful in a household where everyone may not drink coffee the same way.
And it gives you room to experiment. If you buy a new type of bean and the grind you’ve been using doesn’t taste quite right, you can make an adjustment. If you switch brewing methods, you don’t necessarily need another grinder. You simply find the setting that works best for that cup.
My Morning Coffee Routine Has Changed
Before using this grinder, grinding coffee could sometimes feel like one more thing I had to do before getting my morning started.
Now I actually enjoy the process. I measure my beans, set the grinder where I want it, grind what I need and move on to making my espresso.
For me, setting 10 has become my sweet spot for espresso. Someone else’s favorite setting may be completely different, and that’s exactly why I appreciate having 48 choices available.
I also don’t have that dreaded cleanup waiting for me afterward.
No grounds flying all over the place.
No big pile hiding underneath the grinder.
No coffee stuck everywhere because of static.
Just freshly ground coffee ready for brewing.
