4 Unrealistic Expectations from a Maid That You Should Give Up

Don’t feel embarrassed if you need help getting your home cleaned. Not all of us are able to do it, and hence there is a reason that the Cleaning Industry exists. But most of us have some unrealistic expectations when it comes to hiring a cleaning service, and we want to clear it up.

They are Not Here to Redecorate

If you believe hiring a maid will change how your house looks, then you are in for a rude awakening. Sure they will help make it look better, but they don’t do complete makeovers. Therefore, excuse yourself from the dramatics.

The cleaner will have to rinse and repeat to clean your home. Yes, it will take 2-3 cleans to bed into your home and learn the flow of rooms and how to work more efficiently to clean your home promptly.

They can’t clean everything in a single session; therefore if you want your home cleaned inside out, you have to wait for 3-5 sessions. Even if the maid is professionally trained, they are still human and has a limit for how many rooms, bathroom or items they can clean at a time.

So have your needs and expectations sorted out.

They are Not Here to Tidy Up

This is not necessarily the truth, especially if they vacuum a room.  If your home is littered with stuff that you didn’t care to pick up, then sure your maid will do it. But it’s time-consuming work, and it’s getting in the way of their actual work, so they have to compromise here.

This depends on your etiquettes as the maid offers cleaning services, not tiding your room up. So pick up your stuff, and put it away. Maid Service NYC have a time frame to clean your whole house, and it’s better to help them instead of making their work harder.

Distinguish between Different Types of Cleaners

You should know there are two types of cleaners, first is the dream cleaner is the one who instantly knows what’s needs to be done, and how to impress. Unfortunately, they are a rare breed.

The second one is Convenient Cleaners. They see hours as a convenience in their life and will work as they see fit, or unless you replace them. They barely make it through and will leave you with a cleaner home, instead of a thoroughly cleaned one.  This is the more common breed.

Fortunately, Maid Service NYC carefully tests its every member and make sure they are the dream cleaner that will get quality results.

They won’t Last Forever

Nothing lasts forever, get over it. So is your work relationship with your maid. If your maid pays attention to detail, then you should search and have backups ready because sooner or later they will leave working for you. Now your etiquettes or habits aren’t necessarily the reason.

The best way to put it, they are moving on to tier life and may mind prolific and better work over time. So they have don’t want to work as a cleaner anymore.

  • When hiring a maid service you both have to be on the same page.

  • I used to have a maid, and I felt like I needed to clean before she came. My kids toys were all over the place, I had paperwork all over my home office that needed to be filed, etc before she came. Sometimes I would spend a couple of hours preparing before she even came.

  • This is a great post! What person expects any of these from a maid?!? It’s good that they put it out there, which they shouldn’t have to .
