Things you should look for

If you are wondering what you should be focusing on when choosing a perfect radiator for your home, then this is exactly what you are looking for;

Value for Money

Radiators are an investment. They cost money. And the last thing you want is to break your bank only to get home with a below-standard system. So the first thing you want to ensure is that you are getting the value for your money. More or less knowing what you are signing up for.

Functionality and Durability

You are looking for a strong, highly efficient, and long-lasting radiator. After all, what’s the point of getting one without those qualities right? Strong and durable because you don’t want to be at the store every few months looking for a replacement. This means going for quality over price. Also, you have to ensure that whatever type you get, they serve their function as intended.

Colors, Designs, and Styles

They are called designer radiators because that is exactly what they are; designer radiators. Apart from creating a great and comfortable environment for your home to relax, they are also a designer and décor statement. You are therefore looking for one that would match your style and preferences.

For this, you first have to determine where you want to install it; the kitchen, bathroom, or living room. Then, think out the colors and decorations in that room. This will help you choose the best colors and styles to match the living space if you intend to place it there.

Easy Installation

The installation process should not be a problem. But careless mistakes could cost you big time. If you are doing it yourself, make sure you follow the manufacturer’s instructions. If need be and also depending on the type of radiator you choose, you can always call for professional help.

Size options

Different radiators come in different sizes and designs. So it is again up to you to determine the size that would suit you the best. There are two things you want to determine; your requirements and space you can afford. For requirements, remember that you can expect larger radiators to provide more heat.

As for space, it shouldn’t be a big issue. Most radiators take up the minimum amount of space. You can choose wall-mounted radiators and vertical radiators for minimal spaces.

Prices

Prices are another factor to consider. It should have probably been the number one point in this list but it is last because there is a much more important factor than just price. Different sizes and designs come with different prices. Here, you will have to determine your budget first before you make the purchase.

Things to you should know

Now that you know what you are looking for, here are other important things to keep in mind and to know;

Types of Fittings

You should know that there are two types of fittings; wall-mounting and free standing. Just like the name suggests, wall mounting radiators are those that are mounted on the wall. These are usually pretty lightweight and take up limited wall space. They are therefore great if you have minimal space in the room.

You can always install them yourself. However, it is much better if you get a professional to mount it for you. That is if you are not looking to have exposed sockets, loose cables, and wires hanging down the wall and on the floors. They are also discreet and out of sight.

You already guessed what free-standing means; they come with their own set of feet and click on the ground you want them to ‘free stand’. Unlike the wall-mounted, these can easily be moved from one room to the next or even one station of the house, say your working station, to the next. They mostly don’t need any professional installation.

Finally

Keep in mind that what is best for you is only well known to you. Well, with a little professional guidance you should be able to choose the best. This includes putting other things into considerations as discussed above. Some radiators, like vertical radiators, are not only to make your living room warmer but to also add a statement to your space.

Others are meant to be out of sight like the wall-mounted radiators. Make sure to also put quality, durability, and functionality as your top priorities.
