When you think of the most popular plastic surgery procedure done on women, your first thought might be to assume the boob job – But you’d be wrong. It’s not even in the top three.
According to a report released by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, cosmetic plastic surgery is on the rise, with 2,006,362 women having cosmetic surgery in 2020 alone. Of those, the most prominent contender was rhinoplasty.
Rhinoplasty, also known as the nose job, was performed 352,555 times in 2020, with 82% performed on women. The cost of a nose job can range depending on where you live, averaging around $6000-$8000 in America and $9000-$10000 in Canada.

Unlike other procedures where those seeking results look for anti-age benefits, this procedure is sought out by the young and old alike, widening the pool of people who wish to get it.
Lastly, rhinoplasty isn’t always performed due to looks alone. They also help those with breathing problems such as a deviated septum, sleep apnea, or chronic bad snoring. Functional rhinoplasty is also used when a nose has come into contact with trauma, such as a broken nose. In cases of these, those receiving the surgery can opt-out of additional cosmetic enhancements to the nose, except the changes that will occur naturally from restructuring the damage.
