Sometimes when you work a lot, it can be hard to find easy and tasty meals to prepare for my family. I don’t want to be in the kitchen all day, yet I need to find a meal that is hearty, easy to prepare, and not too messy for clean up.

Well, I think I may have found the solution to my problems! What better way to prepare a tasty meal for the whole family, than with Hillshire Farms Smokes Sausages.

That’s right Hillshire Farm Sausages has saved the day for me! LOL! Since it’s been so cold here, I thought about making a warm and hearty bowl of soup. Now, I usually make this meal with chicken; however, today I’m going to alternate by using the sausage instead.

First let me tell you what you will need for the recipe:

One package of Hillshire Farm Smoked Sausage

A package of Rice

A package of frozen Peas and carrots

One Onion

Virgin Oil

One pack of gravy

A pack of cracker (if you wish.)

Boil your rice until it’s ready, which should take about 15 to 20 minutes. While that’s cooking, get a sauce pan and add oil to it. Turn the burner on medium while adding frozen peas, carrots and diced onions to it. Keep an eye on on it! It’ll burn if you don’t. In another sauce pan, let some gravy and chopped up Hillshire Farm sausages simmer. Once all those vegetable are done, slowly add rice to that pan.

Saute your Hillshire Smoked Sausages for at least 3-5 minutes. Make sure to turn them over to fully cook them!

Now, here comes the easy part. After everything has been cooked, just add the Hillshire Smoked Sausages to the pan of rice and vegetables with a bit of gravy. And BOOM! You have yourself a home cook meal! Ready to serve in minutes! I made a small pot first, because my children are so funny about smoked sausages. Aren’t they all? Though to my surprise, they loved it and so did I!

The Hillshire Farm Smoked Sausages added a unique flavor than the usually chicken I always add. I find this meal to be great for us busy moms to prepare. Plus, it’s easy and very fulfilling. The flavor of the sausage not only adds an unique spicy taste, but  the sausage blended quite well with it. It was a great alternate from the chicken I use.

So the next time you’re looking for a quick and easy meal for the weeknight. grab some Hillshire Smoke Sausages and get your flavor on!
