Discovering the New Cannabinoid and Its Healing Properties
Consumers suffering from various ailments are becoming happier with the presence of medicinal products from natural sources. CBD oil, which is an extract from the cannabis plant, is one of them. Thousands of people from different countries are testing CBD oil, and many of them are saying that they find relief and comfort that they did not get from regular medication.
CBD is now legally sold, as it is safe to use due to the absence of THC, the psychoactive compound in marijuana that intoxicates, giving users that ”high” feeling.
Researchers see a lot of medicinal potential in the compounds that they extract from marijuana plants. Although CBD is still new in the market, manufacturers of CBD are now eager to introduce another cannabis oil extract with more potential healing properties.
The new product is called CBG or cannabigerol.
Getting to know CBG oil
By now, you may have already realized the many healing properties of CBD or cannabidiol, which is now a go-to product for people suffering from painful joints due to arthritis and strenuous physical activities. The list of diseases CBD can help alleviate grows longer.
Researchers and consumers are still trying to know more about CBD, but manufacturers are introducing the new cannabinoid called CBG, which is also an extract from marijuana plants.
While it is still being studied, CBG oil is already available on the market. Just like CBD, it does not have THC, although it may become more expensive than CBD oil because the cannabis plant only produces meager amounts of this specific cannabinoid.
What is interesting is that CBG is where some of the known cannabinoids originate. The source is the inactive, acidic form of CBG called CBGA (cannabigerolic acid). During processing, CBGA breaks down into CBD, THC, and CBG.
Difference between CBD and CBG
Although CBD and CBG are cannabinoids, each one is a different compound. Each one has a different purpose and, therefore, can treat a diverse group of ailments. However, some pharmacological overlap between the two is possible.
CBD is known to suppress your appetite, whereas CBG can potentially increase your appetite.
Benefits of using CBG oil
CBG has the potential to relieve intraocular pressure and treat glaucoma. Its antibacterial properties may help people who are suffering from MRSA (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus) because it shows promise in treating antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
CBG can help relieve tension, relax muscles, and help users feel calm. Potentially, it can prevent the effects of colitis and inflammatory bowel diseases, such as nausea, weight loss, poor appetite, diarrhea, cramping, joint pain, and abdominal pain.
In another study, CBG was used on its own or in combination with other cannabinoids to prevent Huntington’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. Other studies indicate that it is capable of slowing down the growth of tumors and could help in the treatment of breast cancer and colon cancer.
With the promising results from the numerous studies on CBG oil, it does have the potential to be an excellent natural medicine to treat a host of diseases.
