CBD products: Potential benefits and side effects

The green rush has completely enveloped the Western world. Hemp and cannabis are now legal in most American states, Australia, Canada, and parts of Europe.

Although this is a great sign for both growers and users, rapid CBD expansion poses certain questions. There are still a lot of legal and regulatory holes that need to be addressed, and we need to see how governments of the world will handle these issues.

Perhaps the biggest problem with CBD products comes in the form of medical claims. Although numerous studies have shown hemp’s potential, CBD companies have quickly anointed hemp as the next big thing within the wellness industry.

This is why users have to be very careful when using cannabidiol items and only use the highest quality CBD oil and the best CBD salves.

In this article, we will answer some of the burning questions; things such as “Does hemp make you sleepy or tired?” and “What are the common drawbacks?”.  Read on!

What is CBD?

Hemp flower or CBD flower is the most potent part of the hemp plant (read more about the best CBD flower here). It has numerous beneficial cannabinoid substances such as CBD, CBG, CBC, but also vitamins, minerals, terpenes, and flavonoids. If you’re ready to grow your own weed and harvest it, you can check out the guide to trimbins to learn how.

Each one of these may provide a positive boost to our organism. However, we usually focus on CBD as the most potent chemical compound. So, what makes CBD special?

CBD is a substance that was discovered in the last few decades. The scientists theorize that CBD or cannabidiol interacts with the human endocannabinoid system.

This system should regulate numerous internal processes, such as sleep, mood, stress, pain, etc. By stimulating it, CBD might be able to normalize all of these things.

In that sense, CBD’s potential is limitless. However, we still have limited data to make these claims. Most of it is based on theories and limited studies, so we need to learn much more before we can recommend hemp as a medical treatment.

In fact, there is only one drug in existence that is based on hemp (Epidiolex, which is used for certain types of spasms).

At this point, CBD is mostly used as a wellness product. It can help you reduce stress, achieve better sleep, and, generally speaking, restore the natural balance. However, you shouldn’t be using it as a part of medical treatment. If you do decide to take such extreme measures, make sure that you’re in constant contact with a medical expert when looking for cbd for your consumption.

What are the potential benefits of CBD products?

As already mentioned, medicinal hemp is still being researched. Given that the endocannabinoid system was discovered only recently (in 1992), we know very little about the interactions. In most cases, we base our knowledge on user experience.

Most people use cannabidiol as a way of improving their sleep. Keep in mind that the product shouldn’t be used for insomnia, though. CBD can help people relax as it has certain sedative properties. This is why a lot of people take it before going to bed, as a way of reducing stress and simply letting go.

These products may also affect muscle discomfort, tension, and fatigue. If you’re an athlete, or if you’re constantly strung, CBD topicals can provide the necessary relaxation.

Again, the product shouldn’t be used to treat any medical condition, nor should it be used for pain caused by an ailment. If you do wish to use it in such a manner, make sure to visit a hemp doctor and ask them for their opinion. We also recommend that you get acquainted with the local laws.

Lastly, CBD topicals can be used to increase the hydration of the skin. The plant has numerous antioxidants, which is why these products are so great for antiaging. In fact, a lot of cosmetic companies have caught up to this and have started creating items based on hemp as the main active ingredient.

Potential drawbacks

CBD products are often seen as safe. They shouldn’t cause any severe side effects, as long as you’re using them responsibly. However, caution is still advised.

If you do experience some issues, they might come in the form of dry mouth, change of appetite, drowsiness, dizziness, and skin irritation. Needless to say, CBD may cause a bad interaction when used together with certain traditional drugs.
