Anyway, if you are going to visit Florence to spend a luxury weekend, you may have to plan your trip very carefully in order to get a little bit of taste of everything. The process should begin by finding the most suitable and strategic place to stay, in a location that is accessible to a variety of attractions without many complications. To make your process easier, here you can find a boutique hotel in Florence, Italy.

Whether you got that sorted or not though, let’s find out about the many luxurious things you could do while spending a weekend in Florence.

The Amalgamation of Art and Architecture

If you are passionate about art and architecture, Florence – the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance is your ultimate destination. A weekend trip may not allow you to experience the genius of its famous sons like Michelangelo, but you can still spend some time in the Uffizi Gallery.

As for architecture, just taking a walk through the Pizza del Duomo could overwhelm your eyes and other senses with the glorious medieval places like the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, Giotto’s Bell Tower, Brunelleschi’s Dome, and such.

Shopping High-end or Within Budgets

You may know that Florence is the birthplace of world-famous brands like Gucci, Ferragamo, Pucci, etc. Take a walk along Via de’ Tornabuoni, and you would come across the stores of many of these prestigious brands and some more. Via Roma and Via Dei Calzaiuoli are also frequented by many shoppers for the availability of both high-end boutiques and retail stores.

For cheaper souvenirs and everyday clothing, you can visit the area surrounding Mercato Centrale. There you could get yourself some bargains – be its leather goods, jeans, or handicraft items. Enter the market and you will be welcomed with the flavors of Florentine foods and its ingredients.

For jeweler shopping, the most popular destination is the shops lined on top of the oldest bridge in Florence – Ponte Vecchio. This bridge also provides a great spot for some photographs.

Eat the Foods Loved by All

Not only Mercato Centrale, but many streets and squares surrounding the city center in Florence are also frequented with lots of street food stalls and gelato shops. For a special dinner, there is no shortage of luxurious, Michelin starred restaurants either. So, whether it’s the Florentine local delicacies or some international items that you are after, you will always find a suitable place to eat.
