Tips for Planning a Trip to England with the Family.
There are so many amazing places to go and visit in Europe. England is number one on a lot of people’s lists. It is hard to know where to start when planning a trip there, though. There are more places to visit than just London, and there are a lot of famous sites to see. If you can make a trip over there, it is a good idea not to go for less than a week. A week or longer will allow you see so much more. It will allow you to travel to a few different areas because you need at least a few days just in London.
A lot of flights from the US will fly into London. This is a good place to start. You can then travel easily from Heathrow or Gatwick and spend your first couple of days exploring London and the surrounding areas. You could start off by flying to Manchester, though. If you are a fan on Manchester United, then it might be a good option for you. You could spend a few days in that area and the surrounding places. You could tour Old Trafford, visit Liverpool and even Blackpool. There are a lot of typically British things in Blackpool, including a pier, amusements and a theme park. If your children are younger, I’m sure that they would love the Wallace and Gromit rides!
When you are planning a trip, it is a good idea to make a list of all of the things that you want to do and see. Then you can prioritize and plan an itinerary. Getting out a map is a great idea, so you can see how easy things will be to get to. There is no need darting all over London, going back and forth on yourself. Plan what you want to see methodically, and it will make your trip run smoothly. You should consider things that aren’t right in the cities either. There are some awesome things like the Harry Potter Studio Tour and safari parks, that are a little drive out from city centers. They are perfect for children and teenagers so think about visiting those things too. and don’t forget your camera you’ll want to take as many photographs as possible. Also in this case, it would be worth hiring a car. If you plan to hire a car over there, read up about their road rules. Not many of us Americans are use to roundabouts instead of four-way stops!
There are a few things that you should know when you travel to England. Tipping in restaurants is not a big thing over there as it is here. If you are going to tip, 10% is considered enough. Tip more if you want to, of course, but it is not expected. It is a good idea to get your cash exchanged before you travel. It can be a little worse for us, in terms of the exchange rate. You won’t get any good deals if you get your pound sterling over there. Enjoy your trip. England is a perfect trip for families.
