Start Investing In Yourself, and 2017 Can Still Be Your Year.
Now we’re at the mid-point in the year, it’s worth taking a step back and reflecting. How are things going? Have you achieved any of the things you set out to do back in January? If the answer is no there’s no need to fret or declare the year a write-off, you still have six months to turn things around. Start investing in yourself, without guilt and you will look back in December and be so glad you did.
Take Driving Lessons
Driving lessons are a huge investment. The money you need from start to finish for your provisional license, lessons, theory and practical tests can be pretty eye watering. However it’s SO worth it, how many people have you ever heard saying they regret learning to drive? If you still don’t have this important life skill, make room in your budget and take the bull by the horns. Book in with an instructor and aim to get it done. It usually takes up to a year to learn to drive taking one lesson a week, but if you book an intense course or two-hour lessons, you’ll of course get there quicker. Even if you’ve not passed your test by December, by that time, you’ll be well on your way to it. Don’t put it off, think of it as an investment in yourself, your independence and your future.
Study Something You’re Passionate About
Education is one of the best ways to invest in yourself. When you gain a qualification, it’s something no one can ever take away and can help you to advance in your career or even change jobs completely. You could either take time out from working and go back to college or university or study online from home. Whether you do an online masters in clinical mental health counseling, a college course in beauty therapy or a PHD in geology, if it’s something you’re passionate about it will improve your mind and improve your prospects too. Studying gets your brain working and will do you the world of good.
Take Up a New Hobby
Hobbies are so important. Not just for the enjoyment factor but because they can keep us productive, encourage us to be social and even improve mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression. When you do something you enjoy and are good at, it can give you a real confidence boost. Many of us claim we don’t have time for hobbies, and admittedly when we lead such busy lives, it can be a struggle. But prioritize, instead of three hours lounging in front of the TV after work you could be enjoying a hobby instead. Whether it’s painting, gardening or a sport, have a think about what you’d really enjoy and book yourself a class!
Socialize More
Being able to spend time alone and enjoy your own company is an important thing to learn as an adult. However, that doesn’t mean to say we should exclude ourselves. Spending time with loved ones is so important, go out and have fun you won’t even realize you’re making memories until you look back. If you could rope a friend or family member to take a class or start a hobby with you, you kill two birds with one stone!
Making a goal is really great. Most of our lives are wasted with so many unreasonable things.
Oh, that’s nice. I also learned a new hobby in 2017 and it’s also ukelele. Now, I don’t have hobbies, I’m just a bum.
