Packing For Florida? Here’s What You’ll Need.
You might know that I recently headed off to Universal Studio in Sunny Orlando Florida. Perhaps it encouraged you to book your own trip to the sunshine state. Well, if that’s the case, you need to know what to pack before you head off. There are a few things that will prove to be very useful in Florida and here are some of my recommendations.
A Phone…Obviously
Look, the parks in Florida are huge, and when I say huge, I really do mean it. Disney World is actually 40 Square miles. Disney staff say that no kid can get lost in Disney because how can a kid be lost in the happiest place on earth. That’s true, but you can still lose your way, and it can be a little stressful if you can’t find the person you were in the park with. So, yes phones are a must, and the good news is that all the main parks have free wifi. So, you’ll be able to stay in touch without using your minutes.
The other factor to consider is whether or not your phone is protected. Splash Mountain, Dudley Ripsaw Falls, Jurassic Park: The Ride are just some of the wet water flumes you’ll find in the major theme parks of Orlando. You will get soaked, and you don’t want to ruin your new iPhone. Luckily, there are waterproof phone cases that will keep that tech completely dry and ensure it doesn’t spoil your vacay. Don’t forget, even if you’re not planning on going on the water rides, you could still get caught in torrential rain.
A Poncho
Hey, they sell them at every park, and there’s a good reason for this. It rains a lot in Florida, and heavy rainfall is particularly common during the summer months between June and August. Don’t worry, they don’t last very long at all, and after about thirty minutes, the sun rolls right on out again. But those thirty minutes are more than enough time to get soaked. With a Poncho, you can slip it on over your outfit and take it off when the rain stops. If you don’t want to wait to buy an official one when you get over there, you can find them online.
Mosquito Bands
If you have the blood that mosquitos love and constantly wake up bitten to death on tropical holidays, Mosquito bands are essential for Florida. They’ll stop the Mosquitos from bothering you and these days there’s no need for the spray. The bands will keep you perfectly safe, and they look cool too. You can get them in lovely vibrant colors, so they won’t look out of place as part of your outfit.
Fastpasses
Make sure you get a few fast passes before you head to places like Volcano Bay, Universal, Disney, and Seaworld. In some of the theme parks, fast passes are free which actually makes them less effective. Universal offer them as an add-on not free, and that’s why if you have these, you’ll never spend more than ten minutes queuing.
I hope this helps when you are buying everything you need for a fun-filled vacation in Florida.
