Prior to the pandemic, back in 2019, my company was already paving the way for a modified work-from-home schedule. I have a larger frame and needed something that will support my long hours of sitting at my desk, working from home. The seat cushion alone is specifically designed for taller, heavier individuals, like myself. The rich-filling 6.69″ thick seat cushion is 70% thicker than typical office chair seat (3.93″). The base of the chair has a large, 27.55″ base, helping to ensure the leather chair’s stability and prevents tipping. So many times, I have fallen out of other chairs, and this one has really delivered in performance as I’ve tested that tipping ability several times with no slips, which is a huge success in my book.
Living in a warmer climate, and sitting sometimes for hours at a time, I can get extremely hot and sweaty. While I keep the air on, sometimes you just can’t escape that Florida heat and humidity. Assembly is Easy
I am someone who would rather pay someone else to complete certain jobs or tasks for the matter of convenience, so I have time to do other things. At 53, I’m not the strongest or most agile person; however, when I unboxed the COMHOMA PU Office Chair, I knew within a short period of time I would be able to put this chair together myself. From start to finish, the full assembly of the COMHOMA PU Office Chair was done in about 20 minutes.
The chair comes with all of the hardware and tools needed to easily assemble it. The large 27.55″ five-star base just needs to be turned over, pop in the give wheels and add the gaslift. This controls the pressure of the chair and movement of height when accompanied by the base lever.
The next step was to place the metal plate on the bottom of the seat cushion, apply the four (4) screws using the Allen wrench provided and set to the side.
For a few moments, I felt like throwing in the towel, as I thought it would be awkward to try and hold the back rest and attach it to the seat cushion base. To my delight and surprise, they actually recommend in the installation instructions that you use the box to secure the seat cushion and install the back rest. This made completing this task easy for me and I really felt relief that I could continue on with putting the chair together by myself.
Next step was to install the arms on each side. Again, with the tools provided, it was very easy to add the arms, flip over the entire chair and place it atop of the gas-lift on the metal base below. The gas-lift cylinder allows for smooth, adjustable height of the seat. Being taller, it is the first chair I’ve had that I can comfortably sit in and not have my knees hitting the bottom of my desk, or being so low to the floor, I’m stretching to type on my keyboard.
I was finally ready to give my new chair a test drive. I sat in it in the middle of my living room and gave it a few spins around. I didn’t tilt or tip in any way. The feeling of accomplishment after putting the chair together was exciting. Sometimes, the small victories such as this mean so much, especially when you have limited mobility.
Fits Everyday Needs
Working from home has its pros and cons. I enjoy being able to have the ability to spend time at home with my pets, complete simply chores during lunch or break times, and saving money by not having to pay to commute, fill the gas tank, and maintain a business casual wardrobe. The cons are I miss the contact and camaraderie of my coworkers that I sat beside for over 20 years. I now consider my pets as my daily coworkers. Do I talk to them like they are humans? Absolutely!
