BODEGA Portable Dual-Zone Refrigerator/Freezer Review: The Game-Changer for Every Outdoor Adventure

When it comes to outdoor adventures, whether it’s camping in the woods, tailgating at a big event, or heading out on a weekend road trip, or simply hanging in your backyard by the pool, keeping your food and drinks cold is more than a convenience… it’s a necessity.

That’s where the BODEGA 38qt/36L Dual Zone 12V Portable Car Fridge (Model T36) comes in.

cooler

Your BODEGA 38qt/36L Dual Zone 12V Portable Car Fridge will arrive in a large, securely packaged box. Inside, you’ll find a smaller box containing the charging equipment. I recommend giving the cooler a quick wipe down before using it, mine had that typical “new” smell, so a quick clean helped freshen it up.

The BODEGACOOLER company recommends pre-cooling the fridge before traveling if you plan to store a larger amount of frozen food. We packed ours with some food, frozen and thawed meats on both sides at the bottom, pizzas for the kids, ice cream and drinks to head out for my son’s backyard swim party.

So many great things about this cooler everyone will love, it’s spacious and you have an area for your freezer items and refrigerated items…..not all coolers has this function.

We’ve had the chance to test this unit ourselves, and we can confidently say, we love this cooler and it’s a game changer for any outdoor adventure. The BODEGA 53qt Car Refrigerator performs exceptionally well, reaching the set temperature within just 1 to 2 hours and at home we use the 120V outlets to power the cooler which is located on the side.

This high-performance compressor RV fridge can hold up to 41 cans of cola, 21 bottles of water, or 13 bottles of red wine. You can choose which side functions as the fridge or freezer, depending on your needs. It also supports Wi-Fi connectivity and app control, compatible with both Android and iOS devices.

Thanks to its sleek, streamlined design and multi-functional non-slip base, lateral movement is significantly reduced. Even when your vehicle is climbing at a 30-degree incline, this portable car freezer operates smoothly and reliably. It ensures you can enjoy cold drinks no matter how rough the terrain maybe.

Why We’re Obsessed with This Fridge/Freezer Combo
One of the standout features of the BODEGA T36 is that it’s a true dual-zone refrigerator/freezer. That means you can chill your drinks ice cold on one side while keeping your food perfectly fresh on the other, just think no frozen lettuce or rock-hard sandwich bread here! You can even store frozen treats like ice cream or grown folk’s drinks in one compartment while keeping the other side set to fridge temps (around 38°F is our go-to).

This is a total game-changer, especially when you’re camping or traveling for long stretches. No more relying on soggy ice packs or constantly draining water from a traditional cooler.

Built for Portability
Let’s be real: coolers packed with food and drinks get heavy. Luckily, the BODEGA T36 comes equipped with built-in wheels and a retractable handle, making it super easy to roll in and out of your car, truck, RV, or campsite. It’s like the suitcase of coolers, sturdy, sleek, and ready to move when you are…..and don’t worry it even has a drain plug so cleaning it out is quick and mess-free.

Performance That Delivers
We were genuinely impressed by how fast this unit cools. In about 15–20 minutes, the fridge side dropped to a crisp 38°F. The freezer? It reached -2°F in under an hour—ideal for keeping meats, ice, or frozen meals solid. All you need to do is plug it in an hour before hitting the road, and you’re good to go.

Despite its power, the cooler runs quietly, with a low hum that’s barely noticeable (under 42 dB). It’s powered by either a 12V car adapter or an AC wall plug, giving you total flexibility depending on where you are or where you’re headed.

Tech-Savvy Features
Interior LED Light – You’ll appreciate this during late-night snack runs or early morning packing for any outdoor adventure.

There’s A USB Charging Port – Great for keeping your phone, speaker, or tablet powered while you camp.

You Have Mobile App Control – You can adjust the temperature settings right from your phone, perfect for convenience and peace of mind.

Why This Cooler Belongs in Your Adventure Gear
We can’t stress enough how useful this BODEGA cooler is. It’s not just a luxury cooler, it’s a smart addition to any road trip, camping journey, boat day, or backyard BBQ. The dual-zone control, reliable cooling performance, and portable design make it a no-brainer for those who take their outdoor experiences seriously.

Once you experience the freedom of having cold drinks and fresh food anywhere, you’ll never go back to using just ice and a basic cooler again. Trust me, you won’t!

We really appreciate the flexibility of being able to use this cooler as both a refrigerator and freezer or as a full refrigerator when needed. The amount of food and drinks it holds is very impressive. Just an FYI: while the unit is a bit heavy even when empty, it’s manageable with two people and fits easily into our vehicle.
