Recently the company Old Time Candy reached out to me to sample one of their awesome variety candy boxes. I selected the Decade Gift Box which has candy from the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s and 90s.

First, I have to say the box was quite impressive, seeing all those old fashion candy jars designed on the box reminded me of the old candy store we use to visit back in the day.

You know the ones where they had every kind of candy you could image displayed in a variety of jars on the shelves.

Now let me share a little about the Old Time Candy Company with you:

Our History

We are Karen and Donny Ray and our business is located in LaGrange, Ohio. We grew up in the late fifties and early sixties and are certified “baby boomers.” It cost 50 cents to go the “picture show” and a large bag of popcorn from the “dime store” was only a dime (really!). We remember the first McDonald’s in Cleveland when the burgers were 15 cents and the fries sold for 12 cents. Those were the days!

This adventure began in July, 1999 when we walked into a large candy store in Cleveland, Ohio that specializes in old time candy. We had no idea that many of our old time favorites still existed. It was the candy we ate as kids. Necco Wafers, Candy Buttons on paper tape, Wax Lips, Candy Cigarettes. Amazing! Read more here

Ok, let’s write to the candy inside the Decade Box, first I’m sure you will be like me and my family. The ooh’s and ahh’s were heard throughout the house when we finally opened the box.

The selection of candy is amazing, I mean me and my husband were going back down memory lane sharing certain candy that we as children enjoyed when we were young. My kids very fascinated, not only because of the candy, but the stories we shared with them about certain candy. When I saw candy like, the chicklet gum, gum drops, zero, bit O honey, turkish taffy, zagnut, chuckles, chunky, wax lips, bun maple candy, play candy cigarettes, walnettos, banana split, candy buttons, clark bars, bobo bats, peanut butter bar, root beer, candy necklace and so much more.

I got so emotional for a minute seeing all the old candy, it brought back so many memories of my parents. My husband on the other hand was like a kid in a candy store, he begins to swing his feet back and forth while he enjoyed some of the Old Time Candy, it was so cute!

I think Old Time Candy would excite you and your family as well with all their selections of candy boxes. You don’t have to get a decade box, they have boxes of candy for all occasions and each assortment is different.

FunDip was my #1! And where I lived we used to buy lots of gum called Pal that were 1 cent each! I loved them! Great giveaway, it made me think of the greatest memories from my childhood: walking to the little candy store at the corner with grandpa to buy candy, lots of them, for $1 🙂

My favorite candy was a Rocky Road chocolate bar. Rocky Road candy bars made with milk chocolate, fluffy marshmallow and topped with roasted cashew nuts.
