Motorola Talkabout T100 Series: Elementary Age Kids @MotoSolutions #Backtoschoolguide

For the past few weeks we have been showcasing some pretty awesome Back To School products that would be great for that student in your life! Today we have another product for you, so site back, grab your pen and paper, and note these product and the links we will be sharing!

Today we have the Motorola Talkabout T100 Series:

You may be wondering how does the Motorola Talkabout T100 Series play into back to school. Well, the Motorola Talkabout T100 Series will work great for adventurous kids that combine fun with functionality for elementary age students.

The Motorola Talkabout T100 series of two-way radios are very compact and so easy-to-use.  The small size is ideal for elementary age children who aren’t in the cell phone stage quite yet, but they do need to check in with mom and dad in the neighborhood.

As you see they will fit easily within the palm of your child’s hand. They are also fun for hours of playtime indoors and outside!! No matter if you are at school, in the car, at the park, or at a soccer field or the beach, you’ll still receive reliable communication!

I like that you can even use the Motorola Talkabout T100 Series on a family / school weekend adventure! Next month my son and I will be heading out on a school weekend trip to a cabin in the woods and we will definitely be using the Motorola Talkabout T100 Series while we are traveling! He’s with another chaperone and on another bus so again this will be a great time to test the Motorola Talkabout T100 Series.

These radios are very stylish and again will provide reliable two-way communications when out of cell phone range. They feature 22 channels and up to a 16 mile range, can fit comfortably in your kids pocket or backpack and are available in blue and bright pink. They retail for $34.99 per pair, which makes them very affordable.

How far can I expect my radios to communicate?
The communication range quoted is calculated based on an unobstructed line of sight test under optimum conditions. Actual range will vary depending on terrain and conditions, and is often less than the maximum possible. Your actual range will be limited by several factors including, but not limited to: terrain, weather conditions, electromagnetic interference and obstructions. T100 series includes two neon blue radios, two belt clips and one user guide.

So what do you think? Are the Motorola Talkabout T100 Series something you would invest in? I think they are well worth the money for a piece of mind while you’re out and about with your children!

  • We used to have some that were similar years ago, but the kids broke them. I would love to have some again.

  • These are fun for the kids. They have cell phones though so I think they may get bored with these pretty quickly.

  • We used an older set of walkie talkies for a road trip several years ago… It was nice to be able to communicate from one car to another (before cell phones were widespread). But the limited range was an issue. I think that it would be fine to use these for a kid who is going to the neighbors’ house, but probably any farther would require a phone.

  • What a great idea to use walkie talkies with younger kids! I probably worry too much and i don’t usually let them get very far away but maybe with these i could loosen the reins alittle bit more. Thank you so much for sharing, great article!
