It’s Almost Here, the NAIAS: North American International Auto Show. You Can Enter To Win Tickets To NAIAS Also….#DetroitLovesAutos and #SteelMatters

I don’t know if I should “Scream” or “Jump for Joy” that’s how excited I am about attending the 2018  (NAIAS) North American International Auto Show. It will be the biggest hit in Detroit and you’ll find people attending from all over the world and from all walks of life.

I mean this auto show will be huge from the moment you arrive, you’ll get to see wonderful setup displays, to seeing new designs, new technology, new enginethe dash, new concept cars and much more. But this time I’ll also be able to see these awesome vehicles because again I too am attending the NAIAS along with the A Girl’s Guide to Cars.  I’m excited to be among the A Girl’s Guide to Cars group, I look forward to us all enjoying the NAIAS show together.

One thing about the automotive industry that I really never thought to deeply about is the main component which is steel! Steel has always been the main component in helping  to transform these beautiful vehicles into what they are today and what keeps us protected while we enjoy driving around in them. Did you know that SMDI which is The Steel Market Development Institute works to differentiate steel based on its environmental performance and demonstrate steel as the highest value material in the automotive, construction and packaging markets? The SMDI: WORKS WITH  AUTOMOTIVE CUSTOMERS to advance and demonstrate steel’s superior performance, providing better value than competing materials.  In the automotive market, SMDI works to advance the use of steel, especially advanced high- strength steel (AHSS), in the highly competitive automotive market through research, advocacy, and industry and government collaboration.

Don’t worry, I’m assuming we all will get a chance to learn more about SMDI at the 2018 NAIAS show. As it stands now I do understand how important SMDI really is but, I’m interested in learning more.

Being able to attend The Detroit Auto Show | NAIAS 2018 with A Girls Guide to Cars will not only allow me to be front and center, learning, having fun, and viewing all these wonderful new models. I’ll also learn just how important steel is into helping to transform all these cars to what they are today.

My sister loves, loves cars and I’m sure she’d be screaming from the rooftop if she got to attend an amazing show like this. I’m not a big car/car show fan but I do appreciate unique features that cars have these days. The possibilities are endless!

  51. This sounds pretty cool and actually isn’t too far from me.

  52. How cool! I’ve never been to a car show but it looks like fun. I’m not sure how well I would fit in as I don’t know much about cars but I’d still go for it.

  53. My son is totally into anything that “goes.” He is three and I think it’s about time for his first car show!

  54. I have family in Detroit that I have still not visited but I know they would enjoy going to an auto show there! I wonder if they already attend, I am going to have to ask them about that now! Thank you for sharing, it has my wheels turning and maybe planning a trip out there so I can take one in!

  55. I wish I lived close to this or really any auto show like it. I have always been intrigued by the design of new autos. The people who create them are so creative and artistic!

  56. We love a good car show! My kids love to go and dream! I wish this show was close to us! I am surprised every time with all the things they can put in a car. I still remember thinking my grandpa’s old red Cadillac was the greatest thing ever! That thing was a boat!!!

  57. I wish I lived closer or I’d definitely be interested in attending this auto show. We’re in the market for a new SUV so would love to see some of the new cars out there! This must be such a well-attended annual event!

  58. I’ve never attended an auto show but looking at the new cars makes me want to go. It’s always exciting to see what the engineers have in store for the future.

  59. Oh wow, that’s actually a car show that my brother would love to be a part of! Thank you so much for sharing this. I’ve only been to an auto show once and it was really cool.

  60. I’ve been (I live across the river in Windsor!) and it’s pretty amazing (even though I don’t care for cars – I went with my husband!). I’m sure he wouldn’t mind going again!

  61. My daddy says, “they don’t make cars like they use to.” I always look at safety first. I’m a mom and my kids are in and out of the car all day. My daughter is still in a car seat and I want her to be safe. I love cross overs or SUV’s. I love a car with a the new techie stuff also. I need a lot of space in the trunk. From music equipment to fishing rod, we always have a ton of stuff in the trunk.

  62. I’ve never been to a car show before, it would be so much fun! I’ve been to older car shows, but never a new car show!

  63. I haven’t been to a car show in a mighty long time. I’m gonna look into attending this next time and visit Detroit while we’re at it. Hope you have fun. I can’t wait to see what you’ll discover. I test drive a lot of cars and is shock by all the new technology like seeing the maximum speed of a certain street where I’m driving at on the windshield on top of my own speed.

  64. I love that the 2018 NAIAS show is hosted in Detroit. It’s very well deserved, for all they’ve done in the industry, and that area could use a bit of a boost at the same time. So many could, really! I’m sad to see what’s happened to the Steel industry in Canada and the US over the last couple of decades- unfortunately, much of our labour has been outsourced to places like Mexico and it’s taken 10+ years for governments to really look at what the heck that’s done to our cities. My town in particular- used to be a booming steel industry, now it’s falling into disrepair (but influx has come in from neighbouring, larger towns and it’s on the upswing).
I’m glad you touched on the importance of our steelworkers for such things as this! A lot don’t often think of it.

Have fun at the shows! I’m sure it’s going to be mind-blowing to see the new features that are coming for the next few years. There are going to be so many technological advancements :O

    1. Author

Thanks Alysia! I’m looking forward to the Auto Show and yes I do agree the government really need to take a look at our steel industry here in MI and Canada!.

  65. I absolutely love auto shows! There’s just something about seeing new cars that I’m really into. There are so many beautifully designed and powerful cars coming to the market this year. I’m seriously going to check out A Girl’s Guide to cars – that seems right up my alley!

  66. Outside of going to classic car shows, I’ve never really been into cars and their features until recently. I learned that you can really appreciate having some of the latest technology in the vehicle you own or drive. When buying my future car, I know that I want a back-up cam, 4-wheel drive, and XM Radio. I do like a fancy dash, but it makes me nervous because I don’t want all of that tech to go haywire. Lots of trunk space and a spacious back seat are nice. My other half says that the next car we get will have a heated steering wheel and seats. I must admit that those features do come in handy in Upstate NY.

  67. I dont own a car but I love car shows because it gives me an idea of what I am missing. Not really but it’s really cool to see what’s new especially all the bells and whistles cars come with now a days. I have been to the NYC car show but I bet the Detroit Car show is a wow experience.

  68. I love car shows. I remember going to art shows with my dad when I was younger. Now I imagine I can afford all the luxury cars lol

  69. Love car shows – such a great way to see what is coming out and the new features available on the cars . It’s a great experience for kids too. Love the different opportunities to see what works for your family. I always make sure to check out trunk space for our road trips!
