Hopes & Dreams: The Lullaby Project Released Just In Time For Mother’s Day

I’m so excited to share these lullabies with you and my mom to be daughter today! If you ask any of our friends, they will tell you we are a musical family that loves to sing especially to our children. Even as a mom myself, I had my kid’s rooms ready with many musical instruments and lullaby mobiles.

Having a baby is one of the most beautiful experiences a woman could ever have and being able to share a bond with your baby via music is beyond Priceless!!

Now that my oldest is getting ready to have her first child, I can’t wait to help her celebrate this bond with her baby by hugging, kissing and of course singing to my new grandchild!

I’m excited to help her decorate the baby’s room, gather all the baby products and clothing she needs and of course set an area of her room up just for quiet lullaby time. I know the moment we start it’s going to bring back so many Memories, I just might find myself crying from excitement!!

Do you know music is known to help soothe a baby’s soul and believe it or not, it’s really important to incorporate music into your baby’s life. Studies and personal experiences have shown that when parents and families sing to their children, it helps with child development and strengthening the bond between parent and child. It also sets a bond that strengthen both baby, grandparents and even uncles and aunts relationships.

I can remember so strongly how my grandparents would always sing to me and even my dad would sing to my kids. Now as adults, they too remember each lullaby song dad use to sing. Now Alissa will be able to share those same lullabies with her new baby along with the new Hopes & Dreams: The Lullaby Project lullabies!

You may be wondering, what is this Hopes & Dreams: The Lullaby Project? Well listen up, the new Hopes & Dreams: The Lullaby Project are original songs composed by NYC moms brought together on an album called, Hopes & Dreams: The Lullaby Project. These songs feature celebrity singers from many different genres such as, pop, jazz, folk, opera, Latin music and more! Every song was written by a mom in Carnegie Hall’s Lullaby Project as a message and keepsake for their child.

Not only are these songs special, Carnegie Hall will use all proceeds from the sale of the album to support and sustain this project as well as other educational and programs of social impact done by Carnegie Hall and their nonprofit charitable mission.

Below you will see a sample song that I had to share with my daughter, it was one of the perfect lullaby songs since she is due within a month. It’s from Fiona Apple – I Can’t Wait To Meet You, take a moment to listen and enjoy!

We both fell in love with this song and it really touched my daughter’s heart. I’m sure the memories of these lullaby’s will be forever sketched in her heart as well as her little bundle of joy. After listening to Fiona, we went down the line listening to so many wonderful artist, lullabies that Alissa felt that will forever resonated with her and the baby.

  • I just had to pin this! Babies can relate to music even in the womb. I loved singing to my babies inside and outside of the womb. It’s a special bond between mommy and baby. Thank you for sharing this CD! This is a great project and beautiful music from mommas.

  • I can remember singing to my grandchildren when they were just babies. It sure calmed them down. When they got older we would always sing in the car whenever we went anywhere. It sure was a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see if they will sing to their babies when they are older.

  • When my kids were young I sang every night before they went to sleep. Now that I am a grandmother, my daughter sings to my granddaughters…and so do I! Sometimes that is the only way the youngest will take a nap. It just has a way of soothing them. This project is such a great idea!

  • This sounds wonderful. This would be a great gift for any mom-to-be. My mother gave me a set of lullaby cassettes (yes, it was a while ago) that I use to play all the time while rocking my daughters.

  • coincidentally I love your blogs name. It really ties in with this post beautifully. I love night time with my son. He is still considered a toddler and almost every night I get to read him a book, tuck him in, talk about our day! I dont want anything to change but I know it will its inevitable. So I am making as many memories now as I can as a single mother.
