Most girls are locked in an endless struggle with their hair. Given all the treatments and products we lash on there, it’s no surprise that there are some consequences. From split ends to untameable frizz, we’ve compiled this guide as a solution to all your hair woes. There really is no reason you can’t look and feel great all the time. And if your hair won’t cooperate, here’s how to let it down gently.

Dandruff

Perhaps the most common hair complaint of all, dandruff is a serious problem for many ladies. Quite often as consequence of all the products we use, the result is a rather unappealing flaky scalp. There are many shampoos that claim to target dandruff, but the effectiveness of them is yet to be validated.

Instead of paying for expensive shampoo, you could try a home remedy that involves fresh lemon juice. Massage lemon juice into your scalp and leave it for a few minutes before washing out. Repeat every day until your dandruff is gone. Alternatively, this page has other great ideas for curing your dandruff woes.

Dry Hair

Your hair being too dry is a common ailment amongst ladies. You may start to wonder what you’re doing wrong. And in truth, all those serums aren’t great for your hair health. But there may be one common thing that you’re getting mistaken. Many women actually wash their hair too much, thinking that they’re doing a good thing. Well, you’re not.

Washing your hair too often strips it of its natural oils and actually harms your scalp. You don’t need to wash it every day. Instead, aim for twice per week as a rough guide. Give it a week off from brushing and products, and you should see your shine return.

Thin Hair

The problem with most humans is that they want what they can’t have. Those with curly hair want straight hair, and those with naturally straight hair want those stunning curls. It’s human nature. Another common complaint is hair being too thin. The popular belief is that you can’t do much about it, but have you tried olive oil?

It may sound gross, but massaging a little olive oil into your scalp and leaving it overnight could do wonders for your hair. Just remember to wash it all off in the morning or you’ll look greasy!

Balding

And just in case you thought we were neglecting you guys, try this on for size. Male pattern baldness is the most common hair complaint amongst men. Or at least, for the time being, as many men are now becoming acutely aware of male grooming techniques. Watch this space.

While there is no guaranteed cure for baldness, there are a couple of things you can do to ward it off. These include eating foods that are thought to battle baldness, avoid wearing hats, and drink plenty of water. It’s also a good idea to reduce stress, as this is one of the most common causes of hair loss. More expensive options include a hair transplant, but that will set you back a fair bit.

  • Olive oil to help thicken hair? I guess I could try it, but it sounds like it’d be super messy and leave my hair more limp than before. I think I’m actually going to try it though before I completely knock it. Lol.

  • Ever since my stem cell transplant, my hair grew back really curly & FINICKY!! Since then, my hair lost the curls. In the winter, it gets real dry now. In the summer, it gets oily and I fight the thinning problem! Believe me, I am very happy to have hair again, but I don’t like buying a bunch of different shampoos & conditioners. Thanks for the olive oil tip!
